Graduated from Rein-Westvaal Technical University (Germany), the Department of Geology, Mining and Metallurgy in 1963 and the Department of Economics in 1971. Professor of Rein-Westvaal Technical University since 1978. Specialist in the field of metallurgy and heat power engineering and coal combustion in the boiling mass. Takes an active part in cooperation with  the National Mining University. Headed the scientific internship of the National Mining University of Ukraine postgraduates in Germany in the field of underground gas supply of coal deposits in Ukraine in 1995-1997. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1993.

Stanislav Mitkovski
(Poland)

Doctor of Technical Science, Professor of Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy (KMMA). Vice-rector of KMMA in 1989-1995, the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. A famous specialist in the field of theoretical electric engineering. The author of over 30 scientific publications. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1994.

Graduated from Istanbul Technical University (1974) and Higher Mining School in Colorado (1978). Master in mining. A well-known specialist in the field of designing mining technologies, engineering management in mining, evaluation of mineral resources, geomechanics and mechanics of soils. Coordinator and participant of international programs on mechanization and automation of mining processes technologies of mine drilling, management of rock mass condition, the use of electronics and computer systems in mining industry, burial of radioactive waste and aeronautics. Headed the number of international symposia and conferences dealing with mechanization and automation of mining processes, rock mass condition control in the USA and Europe. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1995.

Antoniy Zemba
(Poland)

He works at the Department of Exploration Technique of Mineral Resources Deposits at Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy since 1974. A famous specialist in the field of rock destruction mechanics and environmental protection. The author of six monographs, textbooks and over 100 scientific publications and 30 author’s certificates. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1996.

Graduated from the Mining University in Leoben  (Austria) in 1972, specialized in mining. Graduated from Rein-Westvaal Technical University (Germany) in 1977, specialized in economics. Professor and director of the Institute of Mining Science of Rein-Westvaal Technical University since 1992. Specialist in the field of mining (technology of mineral deposits mining, waste storage in mine workings, environmental protection). Headed the scientific internship of the National Mining University’s postgraduates in Germany in the field of high pressure current research for rock stabilization in 1995-1997. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1996.

Professor of the Department of Oil Geology since 1983-1989. A well-known specialist in the field of oil geology, digital cartography. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1996.

Mykola Kucherskyi

Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute in 1961, specialized in “Construction of mining enterprises”. He worked at Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Plant and headed this powerful enterprise of Uzbekistan in 1985. The head of the Council of “Kyzylkumridmetzoloto” Concern since 1991. Doctor of Technical Science of the International Academy of San-Maryno, Professor. Academician of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia. Full Member of the International Academy of Sciences, Industry, Education and Arts. Honorary Professor of Navoi State Mining Institute. State prize laureate of the USSR, the Honored engineer of Uzbekistan. He was awarded with the highest award “Hero of Uzbekistan” in 1996. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine in 1997.

 Radzh K. Syngkhal
(Canada)

Graduated from Nottingham University with a Bachelor’s degree in mining in 1963. He received a Doctor’s degree in the field of geotechnics at the University of Newcastle-upon–Tyne in 1970. He has been living and working in Canada since 1975. He is a scientific adviser for Canadian government, Professor of Mining at Laval University, as well as editor-in-chief of the International Journal on Opencast Mining Operations, Processing and Environment. The Honored worker of Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Oil and Institute of Mining and Metallurgy of England. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1998.

 Volfgan R.V. Shpira

Graduated from Berlin Technical University in 1971, specialized in “Technical Chemistry”. Doctor-engineer since 1980, staff professor since 1994, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Protection and Technological Processes in 1994-1996, head of the Department of Environmental Geology of Brandenburg Technical University. Specialist in technical chemistry, environmental protection, pyrotechnics, as well as in the field of geological processes, which take place in rock dumps, reclamation of the earth surface from the aftereffects of the technogenic character activities. Coordinator of the International educational course “Ecological and resource management” for the countries of Eastern Europe. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine since 1998.

 

Liudvig F. Wilke

Graduated from Mining Academy in Klauztal in 1957. He worked in Ruhr basin mines (1958-1961) and at Klauztal Mining Academy (1961-1968). Doctor-engineer since 1968, Professor since 1969, staff professor of Klauztal Mining Academy since 1978. Professor of Berlin Technical University since 1982. A prominent specialist in mining technology and economics, and rock dump reclamation. Coordinator of the international research project “Mining industry dump reclamation ”ROMBUSS”. Honorary Professor of the National Mining University of Ukraine in 1998.

 Yakub Semek
(Poland)

Graduated from Mining Faculty of Mining-Metallurgical Academy in Krakow in 1963. Received the degree of Candidate of Science in 1963 and Doctor of Science in 1976. Main directions of his scientific activities include hydrodynamics and gasodynamics of porous media, seam engineering of oil and natural gas deposits, mathematical methods and usage of calculation techniques in oil and gas extraction, shifting of gases in coal seams.

The list of his scientific works counts 210 items. He is a coauthor of 4 patents. Professor Semek is a member of international organization FIANI, member of International Committee of Gas Works Scientists, Associate Member of Polish Academy of Sciences, actual Member of the Engineering Sciences Academy of Poland, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Rischard Tadeushevich
(Poland)

Graduated from Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy (KMMA) in 1971 and Krakow Medical Academy. Since 1971 worked in the field of science, dealing with biocybernetic, automated controlling systems and computer sciences. Doctor of Science since 1975, habilitated Doctor of Science since 1981, Professor since 1986, full professor of Technical Sciences since 1991. Published more than 300 scientific works. Author of more than 70 monographs and other books. Since 1998 he is a Correspondence member of Polish Academy of Arts and Science. In 1996 he was elected as a Vice-rector of KMMA in science, in 1998 he became Rector. Head of the department of Automatization. In 1999 became a member of the Board of the Autonomous Polish Technical Universities, a President of the Rector’s Conference of Polish Technical Universities. In 2001 was elected as Honorary Professor of the National Mining University.

Leonid Waisberg
(Russia)

Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Machine-Building of Dnipropetrovsk Mining University. Candidate of Technical Science since 1975. Doctor of Science since 1998.

During his professional career he combined scientific research with production work. His elaborations were implemented into the serial production of Russian factories (Uralmash, Kostromskoi, Vyksunskiy) and factory named after Parkhomenko in Ukraine etc.

Author of more than 170 scientific works, inventions and patents in the field of mining-dressing machine-building, theory of calculations, designing, practice of usage and exploiting vibrating devices applied in mining and mineral dressing, civil engineering. Now he is a head of Board of Directors of JSC “Mechanobr-Technica”; head of Mining Council of North-West Federal District of Russian Federation.

Zhu Xun
(People’s Republic of China)

Graduated from the Faculty of Mining Prospecting of Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute in 1957. Worked on different positions in Mining Prospecting and Mining Production fields of China. In 1970-1980 was a Minister of Geology and Mineral Resources of China. He is a prominent specialist in the field of sciences on Earth, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, author of more than 100 scientific works, Professor of China Geological University, honored Professor of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Nowadays he occupies the position of Head of the Chinese Association of Former USSR Graduates.

Honored Professor of the National Mining University since 2002.

 Gerhard Gruhler
(Germany)

Doctor of technical science, professor of Reutlingen Institute of Techniques and Economics. Famous scientists in the field of technological processes automatization and informational systems. The author of more than 120 scientific works. He visited the NMU in 1999, 2001 and 2002, where delivered lectures for students of the Department of Computer System Automatization. The staff of this unit elaborated a virtual laboratory on Internet Usage under his guidance.

Honored Professor of the National Mining University since 2004.

Michael Schmidt graduated from prestigious Hanover University, worked on responsible positions in Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Ecology, a number of higher educational institutions of Germany. Published more than 100 scientific works in editions of Western and Central Europe, China, USA and Canada.

 Carsten Drebenshtedt

Graduated from Moscow State Mining University. Worked on responsible positions of the mining enterprises of Germany. Over the last 5 years worked as a head of the Department of Open-Pit Mining. He has been a Vice-Rector on Science of the oldest European higher educational mining institutions “Technical University “Freiberg Mining Academy” since 2002. Published more than 70 scientific works in editions of Germany, countries of Western and Central Europe, Russia, Canada, USA. Honored Doctor of the National Mining University since 2005.

 Gregor Mertsch

Graduated from Higher School of Mankhime in specialty “Economics” and Bonn University  in specialty “Law”. Worked on responsible positions in the Ministry of Defense of Germany. In 1991-2000 worked as a head of the Department of Labor Organization in the Ministry of Ecology of Brandenburg Land. He has been a head of the Department on Main Issues (Law, budget, supervision and monitoring) since 2000. He has got numerous awards and orders for outstanding deeds in Germany and Land Brandenburg.
Honorable Doctor of the National Mining University since 2005.
