Department of Military Training

The Department of Military training of the National Mining University was created in 1926.

Nowadays the department prepares officers of reserve for Land Military Forces of Ukraine. This training program lasts for 2 years. Military training is available for the third and fourth year students of National mining university and other higher educational institutions of Dnipropetrovs`k.

The knowledge taught include: base of theory and putted into practice of subunits in modern general combat.

Apart that students learn:

• engineering;
  
• communication;
  
• defense from mass destroy weapon;
  
• topography and other disciplines.
  

At military technical and special military classes students learn material part and weapon of war-machines, their capabilities and exploitation rules. Practically they learn to work with weapon machinery and technique, set them into combat-mode. They learn to fire from various kinds of the weapon.

For realization of practical training the department has good study material base.

It is situated in individual building and has more then 30 specialized classes, a small weapon town, garage-complex, order square. Apart this, there are modern laboratory equipment, exercise-training complex and computer classes.
The main part of everyday department’s activity is behavior educational work. Its goal is to create high patriotic, moral, psychological, professional, combat and physical abilities for students, which are necessary for military services.
