Department of Aerology and Labour Protection

Head the department is Vasily Ivanovich Golin'ko - electrical engineer, Doctor of technical sciences, professor.

The faculty was founded in 1940 for preparation of mining engineers in the field of mining ventilation, safety of conducting works and mine-rescue affair.

Now the faculty trains specialists and masters on a direction "Mining", specialties " Development of deposits of minerals " specializations " Labour Safety in mining manufacture".

Educational process is provided by 3 Doctors of technical sciences, professors, 12 Candidates of technical sciences, lecturers. In total at the department there work 24 persons, including scientists and training personnel.

Long-term communications with industrial enterprises, control and supervision of labor safety and rescue services allow to carry out special preparation of students in view of their future professional work to provide students with places for educational and manufacturing practices, and also the further employment.

At the department the postgraduate study and doctoral studies on a specialty "Labor safety" is open.

The basic directions of scientific activity of the department:

• management and the control of ventilation of mines;
  
• normalization and the control of working conditions;
  
• decontamination of mines;
  
• anti-damage protection of mine enterprises.
