Department of Mining Engineering

Head of the Department is Rostislav Petrovych Didyk, mining engineer-mechanic, Doctor of Science, Professor, Honored Scientists and Engineer of Ukraine. He is the author of a discovery in the field of plasticity of metals.

The department was formed in 1936 for training non-production staff in the field of technology of mining mechanical engineering.

Now at the department the training of experts on direction «Engineering mechanics» of specialty «Technology of mechanical engineering» is conducted. There are specializations:

• Marketing in mechanical engineering;
  
• Technology of the automated manufacture.
  

Level of preparation: bachelor, specialist, master.

Educational process is provided by 1 professor, Doctor of Science, 8 Candidates of Technical Science, senior lecturers. In total at the Department there are 27 persons, including science officers and the attendants.

Long-term communications of the Department with conducting machine-building enterprises allow to provide all kinds of practice, and also employment of graduates.
At the Department postgraduate study on a specialty is open "Technology of mechanical engineering" is carried out.

The basic directions of scientific activity of the Department:

• high-energy technologies of processing materials;
  
• technological materiology, quality of management of machine-building production;
  
• information technologies in mechanical engineering.
