Institute of economics

Directorof the Institute is Alexander Ivanovich SHAROV, Candidate of the geological and mineralogical sciences, professor of the Management Department.

The main directions of the scientific activity:

• Economics of the mining industry;
  
• Economics of using natural resources;
  
• Public relations;
  
• Leadership.
  

The Institute of Economics at the National Mining University was founded in 1993 on the basis of the Faculty of Economics in order to improve the training of economists and managers taking into account their own experience and studying the experience of the advanced Ukrainian and foreign higher learning establishments.

Nowadays economic education is to meet the society’s requirements and market economy. The former is very important for shaping a new type of human resources, which is essential for providing successful economic reforms in Ukraine, transforming non-effective economic structures, introducing them into competitive market level.

The Institute of Economics consists of:

• The Faculty of Finance and Economics;
  
• Faculty of Management;
  
• Business-School.
