Joint International Summer School

“Integrated Environmental Planning for Adaptation to Climate Change”

Topics of the Summer School are following:

-       Integrated Environmental Planning;

-       Sustainable Development;

-       Good environmental governance;

-       Adaptation to climate change.

In addition, next events are scheduled:

-       Excursion to the Institute of Nature Management & Ecology Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine,

-       Excursion to the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Council;

-       German cultural meeting at the Ukrainian-German Cultural Centre at the National Mining University where German culture, traditions and lifestyle will be discussed, German educational system will be presented, questions and answers session about possibilities for education in Germany will be given.

Lecturers are representatives of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Technology, Brandenburg University of Technology, Cott­bus, Germany:

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Michael Schmidt (Head of the Department of Environmental Planning, expert in environmental planning, spatial planning and land use planning, EIA and SEA)

Prof. Dr. iur. Eike Albrecht (Head of the Chair for civil law and public law with special references to the environment and law of Europe, expert in international environmental law)

Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Voigt (Head of Chair of Environmental Geology, expert in management, integrated planning, protection and monitoring of water resources)

PhD, Dmytro Palekhov (Research and teaching assistant at the Department of Environmental Planning, professional in regional planning in Ukraine, integrated environmental planning, Ukrainian and international environmental law, EIA and SEA).

Official language will be English.

Joint International Summer School will be held on the basis of NMU 13th - 24th September 2010.

The course is open to the students majoring in “Ecology and Environmental Protection”, “Environmental Economics”, “Management”, “Law”.
