International activity
International activity of the National Mining University is aimed at the implementing main ideas and requirements of the Bologna Declaration and further integration of the National Mining University into the world educational and scientific community.
The program of the University’s development up to 2010 determines such priority directions of international activity:
- development of direct contacts with leading universities abroad;
- widening of spectrum of educational services for foreigners;
- organization exchanges for academic teaching staff, scientists, student and post-graduate students;
- expansion of linguistic cultural centres activity, especially in the field of cultural interaction;
- widening of participation of scientific and pedagogic workers in international scientific forums;
- fulfillment of scientific works together with foreign partners;
- activity concerning the obtaining of international scientific and educational grants.
Today the University supports business relationship with universities and entities of more than 40 countries of the world and is a member of such prestigious international educational and scientific organizations as:
- European Society for Engineering education;
- International Association of Universities;
- European Net of Mining, Metallurgical and Oil Universities;
- Ukrainian-Polish Consortium on Improving Business education;
- World Mining Congress.
A significant attention at the University is paid to the international exchange of scientific and pedagogic cadres. At the departments and linguistic centres a systematic teaching is carried out by the specialists from:
- Service of Senior Experts;
- Goethe Institute;
- Freiberg Mining Academy;
- Robert Bosch Fund (Germany);
- Peace Corps
- Expert Volunteer Corps;
- Fulbright Fund (USA);
- English Language School of Greenwich University;
- Volunterr Corps from Great Britain;
- British Council.
Specialists of the university deliver lectures for students and post-graduate students in such foreign educational institutions as:
- Reutlingen University;
- Freiberg Mining Academy;
- Brandenburg Technical University; (Germany);
- Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy (Poland);
- as well as at the institutes and universities of China.
A long-term collaboration has taken place between the National Mining University and higher educational institutions of Germany and Poland. Each year the students of Brandenburg and Wroclaw technical universities have geological and ecological practice at Mining University, in Ordzhonokodze Mining
Dressing Unit, in enterprises of the Crimea and Kryvyi Rog.
Teaching staff, post-graduate students, students of the university get grants on having the internship at leading higher educational institution of the USA, Great Britain, Germany.
